Wiggleswell Canine Rescue grew from a short lived rescue known as Animal Shelter Helpers.  Animal Shelter Helpers was an attempt to assist the small shelter located in Hearne, Texas.  The animals available for adoption were taken from the Hearne shelter.

The most important lesson that was learned is that it is much easier to remove a dog from a shelter than it is to find a new home for it.  The second lesson that was learned is that getting your organizational paperwork put together before you start accepting dogs is critical.  Once you start taking in dogs, your time and energy gets taken by animal care issues and there is very little left to deal with organizational issues.
